Potential placement sites for 2026 include:
- Hauberg Estate – event planning and operations
- QC Botanical Center – educational programming
- Brews Energy – barista and front-of-house experience
- YWCA Quad Cities – lifeguarding, front desk support, and mowing & lawn care
In addition to paid job placements, the program provides a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. Participants will receive individualized case management services, including life skills development, counseling, and work readiness training. Educational support and career exploration opportunities, such as resume building and workplace training, are also key components of the experience.
The program is open to Illinois residents ages 16–24 who are currently enrolled in school, working toward their GED, or seeking employment. By meeting participants where they are, the program aims to remove barriers and open doors to new opportunities.
The classroom portion of the program will take place at the new YWCA Quad Cities location in Rock Island on June 8–10 and June 15–17, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants will then transition into their job placements with local employers.
Young people are encouraged to apply today for this paid summer opportunity that combines hands-on work experience with valuable career resources and mentorship along the way. While all are welcome to apply, some eligibility requirements do apply.

Together, we can empower the next generation with the tools, experience, and confidence they need to succeed.
