Please note that the information on this page does not reflect our plan for school age care during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we hope to have our plan together soon, we cannot finalize until we receive guidance from all school districts and governing agencies. If you have any questions about before and after school care, please call the YWCA at 309.788.3479.
Our school age program (ages 6 to 12) is open when school is not in session in accordance to the Rock Island School District beginning at 6:30 a.m. until the start of school and from the end of school until 5:30 p.m.
There are weekly themes and activities are incorporated into the lesson plans which include: field trips, pool and gym time, fine arts and crafts, group activities, and the Lending Library. We also take part in a weekly STEM program.
We transport children to and from the Rock Island Center for Math and Science. Children coming from other locations must have their own transportation.
Families may schedule their child care arrangement to fit their individual needs, but when days are scheduled with us, you will be required to pay for them even if your child is not in attendance.
Tuition is due the first day of the week. Child care is provided unless other arrangements have been made.
- Care is not provided on days when school is closed or cancelled
- When school is delayed by the school district, the YWCA will not operate the before and after school program
- When school is dismissed early due to an emergency, such as weather or a public disaster, the program will not operate
- A child suspended from school may not attend the program
