100 Years 100 Honored

The YWCA of the Quad Cities celebrated 100 years of service to women and children in our community on August 6, 2017. To commemorate this historic milestone, the YWCA honored 100 citizens who have made significant contributions to the community in areas of: Racial Justice + Civil Rights, Empowerment + Economic Advancement, Health + Safety.
100 Years, 100 Honored, was held on November 3rd, 2017, 12:00 at the Rhythm City Casino, Davenport, Iowa.
To inaugurate our centennial celebration, the YWCA invited Dr. Jill Biden to serve as our Keynote Speaker. Dr. Biden will helped the YWCA honor the efforts of outstanding citizens, especially surrounding the area of Early Childhood Education. This event not only honored and recognized outstanding citizens in our community, it created awareness about the importance of our High Quality Birth to 5 programs.
Keynote Speaker:Dr. Jill Biden
Dr. Biden, former Second Lady of the United States, lifelong educator, and military mom, will speak about her work and advocacy for education. Since leaving the Obama Administration, she has continued her work in areas of particular importance to women, military families, and community colleges, while continuing to teach as a full-time English professor in Northern Virginia.
