For the good of our community’s health and safety, YWCA Quad Cities has made the difficult, but socially responsible decision to cancel all fundraising special events for 2020. We know that this pandemic is affecting us all and we are deeply saddened to cancel these events as funds raised would be put towards services and programs provided by YWCA Quad Cities. In 2020, our fundraising efforts were to have a special emphasis on empowerment services provided and more specifically, our brand new Iowa Empowerment Center, a place created to support the Quad Cities community with a focus on creating long-term self-sufficiency by providing assistance where needed. With computers, free Wi-Fi, printers, a vast resource library and staff on hand to help support all clients, YWCA Quad Cities’ Iowa Empowerment Center is open to all within the Quad City community who might be struggling to make ends meet. Individuals and families are welcome to use the resources available, as well as visiting the on-site food and toiletry pantry and clothing closet. Continued funding is necessary to maintain and grow the Iowa Empowerment Center capabilities. Now, more than ever, these resources must be available to our community members who have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and we need you.
Now, more than ever, our community needs us and we need you. However you have supported YWCA Quad Cities in the past, we are asking that you consider making a similar donation at this time. For example, if you would have attended an event and purchased a ticket, we would ask that you make a donation in the amount of a ticket price ($50-$100), together with the amount you might have spent on an silent or live auction item. The ways to give are endless and EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR COUNTS!
