YWEB-QC & Google IT Training

With the support of Google.org, and YWCA USA, YWCA Quad Cities is proud to present two IT training programs to individuals in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. These training programs are FREE to all who are apply and are accepted. This initiative is part of Google.org $5 million dollar commitment to YWCA USA, to help YWCA’s improve their job training programs and to increase access to digital skills for women and underserved populations. In addition to HTML, CSS and JavaScript instruction, the YWCA program will include scholarships for Google IT Support Professional Certificates, a program designed to start or advance careers in IT.

GOOGLE IT CERTIFICATES

Google IT Certificates can be earned fully online at your own pace – this is a great option for those who are currently employed; however, are looking for additional career growth and opportunity! There are thousands of local IT jobs that are available to graduates of this program, with titles such as Systems Analyst, Support Specialist, Database Administrator, and various other IT jobs. When you complete this course, you will earn up to 12 college credits, and will be prepared to take the CompTIA A+ exams, which are the industry standard for IT. You will also receive resources that will help you launch and advance your career, such as interview tips, mock interview and resume building workshops, as well as career coaching sessions.

YWEB CAREER ACADEMY

The YWEB Career Academy is an employment service program created to provide education in digital skills to traditionally underrepresented or vulnerable populations, such as women, people of color, survivors of domestic violence, and low wage workers. It was created and designed to train individuals to become web developers/designers, while supporting them through the process with support services such as transportation assistance, financial coaching, childcare assistance, and job coaching and placement. Upon completion of the course, students will have opportunities to pursue full-time employment through partnerships established by YWCA Quad Cities.

This program is 3 months long, with 400 hours of intensive technical training, which covers technical skills such as design, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and employability skills. This FREE program is available to those who:
