The holiday season is always a busy time of the year. With gifts to buy, cookies to bake, and parties to attend, it seems that the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas gets shorter every year. Here at the YWCA Christmas is all around us, with all the kids running around, visits from Santa, and Christmas programs. All too often, I find myself getting wrapped up in the commercial side of Christmas. But as a refresher on what Christmas is really about, I thought I’d ask my friends in the Leapfrog room what Christmas meant to them. While answers ranged from presents to cookies and everything in between, a few really stuck out:
Aven: Santa comes and brings presents if you’re good, we put up our tree
Wyatt: Mom and Dad
Kasher: It makes me happy
Lila: Santa brings presents to the kids, Christmas is all about Jesus
Lydia: I’m happy
Ayla: Reindeers
Olivia: Cookies and milk, Santa
Steven: My Dad
Sydney: Santa brings presents, my Mom lets me make Christmas cookies
From all of us here at the YWCA, we want to wish you a safe and happy holiday season! Merry Christmas!!
The photo for this post was from a Christmas party in one of the rooms. Some of our kids got a parent to sit and read stories with them after a day of crafts and snacks!
